Kirkland is a vibrant city located on the eastside of Lake Washington. Its unique downtown waterfront setting offers restaurants, galleries, parks, beaches, public art and a performing arts center.
The 12th largest city in Washington, Kirkland is bordered by Redmond to the east, Bellevue to the south, and Kenmore, Woodinville and Bothell to the north, with Lake Washington on the west.  Neighborhoods include Houghton, Downtown, Totem Lake, Market, Norkirk, Highlands, Rose Hill, Finn Hill, Juanita and Kingsgate.
Kirkland was the original headquarters for Costco and the former home of the Seattle Seahawks.
Bridle Trails State Park, a 482-acre day-use park, is located in Kirkland. The park is known for its 28 miles of equestrian and pedestrian trails and summer weekend horse shows.
