Renton, Washington

Renton is a city in King County, located 11 miles southeast of downtown Seattle along the southeast shore of Lake Washington.

Initially known as an important salmon fishing area for Native Americans, Renton was first settled in the 1860s, and its early economy was based on coal mining, clay production and timber. Today, Renton is best known as the final assembly point for the Boeing airplanes.

Renton currently contains the 8th largest population in the state, and the 4th largest in King County.

The Seattle Seahawk’s new state-of-the-art facility, at an expansive 200,000 square feet, is located in Renton and is the second-largest facility in the NFL.
